How to apply for BHEL Artisan Recruitment 2027

  1. Go to careers.bhel.in between 21 October and 18 November 2026.
  2. Fill in your name exactly as on your Class 10 certificate. Your category, email and post can’t be changed later.
  3. Choose one unit and one trade, and up to 5 exam centre preferences.
  4. Pay the fee online and keep the confirmation. Use an email address you’ll keep active for at least a year, because BHEL contacts candidates only by email.
  5. Government or PSU employees: apply through proper channel or bring a no-objection certificate to document verification.

Points to check

  • No minimum age is given in the notice, only the upper limit of 27 for General/EWS.
  • EWS and PwD minimum marks: the 60%/55% rule names only General, OBC, SC and ST. The notice doesn’t say which figure applies to EWS or PwD candidates. Check the FAQs on careers.bhel.in or ask BHEL before applying if you’re unsure.
  • HPEP Hyderabad PwD seats: 16 of its 60 posts are for PwD candidates, far more than at the other units (2 to 6). The figure is consistent in both the notice and the breakup PDF.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is BHEL Artisan a permanent job?

It becomes one after a year. Selected candidates first work as Temporary Artisans for one year on a consolidated Rs 24,000 a month. After successfully completing that period they are regularised as Artisan Grade IV at the minimum of the Rs 29,500–65,000 pay scale, plus allowances, as per company rules.

Is the NAC (apprenticeship certificate) compulsory?

Yes. You need Class 10, the ITI certificate (NTC) and the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the same trade, with at least 60% (Gen and OBC) or 55% (SC and ST) in both ITI and NAC. Only full-time regular courses count.

Can I apply for two trades or two units?

No. All units hold the computer-based exam on the same day, so you can apply for only one unit and one trade. If you submit more than one application, BHEL considers only the last one.

How many posts are there at Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad?

HPVP Visakhapatnam has 120 posts (Fitter 60, Welder 25, Machinist 14, Turner 6, Electrician 6, Foundryman 6, Electronics Mechanic 3). HPEP Hyderabad has 60 (Machinist 23, Turner 22, Fitter 10, Electrician 5).

Can I ask for a transfer later?

Not for 20 years. The notice says selected artisans must serve at their allotted unit for at least 20 years, with no transfer requests entertained in that period. A transfer for unavoidable personal reasons is possible only on reversion to the original post.
