Probation (2 years on duty within 3 years) ₹75,000/month (consolidated)
After probation RPS-2022 time scale from ₹86,245 + allowances

Post-probation allowances typically include Project Allowance, Shift Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, Hotline Allowance, and PLGA (utility-specific).

Service bond (varies slightly by utility)

Selected candidates must execute a service bond — generally 5 years after probation (7 years total service commitment):

Situation Typical liquidated damages
Leaving during probation ₹5 lakh
Resigning before completing post-probation bond period ₹10 lakh

Original certificates are deposited with the appointing utility for the bond period. Read the specific utility notification for exact bond wording.

Special posting rule — Electrical AEE (distribution utilities)

In several discoms, newly recruited Electrical AEEs must serve in prescribed rural/tribal or field postings for the first 5 years (including probation), often split between construction/MRT wings and operational rural offices. Transfer requests to headquarters may not be allowed during this period.
