Eligibility by Post
- Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, plus proficiency in the local language of the RRB you apply to (Class 8 or above in that language, from a recognised board). Soft note: computer knowledge is desirable, not mandatory.
- Officer Scale I (Assistant Manager): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline plus local language proficiency. Soft note: preference (not a hard requirement) may go to degrees in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, IT, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy.
- Officer Scale II General Banking Officer: Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% aggregate, plus 2 years’ experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution.
- Officer Scale II Specialist posts: Soft note: each has its own rule — e.g. IT Officer (Electronics/CS/IT degree 50%+ with relevant experience), CA (Chartered Accountant + post-qualification experience), Law Officer (law degree 50%+ with advocate/bank law experience), Treasury / Marketing / Agricultural Officer as in the PDF.
- Officer Scale III (Senior Manager): Bachelor’s degree (50%+) with minimum 5 years’ experience as an officer in a bank or FI — lateral/senior style, not entry-level.

Office Assistant & Officer Scale I — Prelims then Mains
Prelims (both): Reasoning (40 Qs / 40 marks / 25 min) + Numerical Ability or Quantitative Aptitude (40 Qs / 40 marks / 20 min) — 80 questions, 80 marks, 45 minutes total. Soft note: you must clear the cutoff in both sections separately, not only the combined score.
Mains (both): Reasoning (50), Computer Knowledge (20), General Awareness (40), English or Hindi (candidate’s choice, 40), Numerical Ability / Quant (50) — 200 questions, 200 marks, 120 minutes.
Officer Scale II & III — single-level exam (no prelims)
General Banking Officer / Scale III: Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, Financial Awareness, English/Hindi, Quant & Data Interpretation — 200 marks, 120 minutes (soft note: confirm section split in PDF/handout).

Choice of Exam Language
Soft note: most states offer objective sections in English/Hindi plus a regional language (e.g. Telugu/Urdu in Telangana, Tamil in Tamil Nadu, Kannada/Konkani in Karnataka).
