UAN, passbook, claims — start at the member portal

Almost every PF task needs your UAN unlocked and linked to the correct Aadhaar / bank details. Passbook download, claim status, and withdrawal forms live on EPFO’s member side — not on apps that charge to “check PF balance.”

Withdrawal rules depend on employment status and scheme conditions. If a YouTube video promises full withdrawal in 24 hours without employer approval where approval is required, ignore it and read the claim form instructions.

Quick questions

Employer not approving — can you escalate?

We cannot escalate inside EPFO for you. Use the portal grievance options named on epfindia.gov.in and keep screenshots of your claim.

Common problems

  • Claim rejected. Open claim status and read the remarks. Fix the KYC detail it names (bank, Aadhaar or PAN) before you file again.
  • Several member IDs from past jobs. Check in the passbook that each one is linked under your single UAN.
  • OTP not received. The mobile number linked to your UAN must be active. Update it before trying claims or login again.
  • Someone asks for a fee to file a claim. There is no official fee to file on the Member Portal.
